PSG Overcomes Olympique de Marseille in a Shootout to Secure Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG has now claimed the prestigious trophy on 14 different occasions.

Paris Saint-Germain required a dramatic equaliser followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past their arch-rivals in Kuwait and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.

The European champions seemed to be coasting towards a comfortable win in the showdown between the French league champions and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring early on.

However, the southern French side fired two times in the closing moments to take a shock lead. Initially, Mason Greenwood scored from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable turn of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a vital equaliser in the dying seconds to force the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then stood as the key figure, saving crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and Desire Doue all scored successfully for PSG to seal a 4-1 penalty win.

Now 14-time winners PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Olympique de Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now won this competition for the twelfth time in the last 13 seasons.
